“FIRST WEDNESDAY”
MUSIC * POETRY * PERFORMANCE
March 3rd, 2010 6 – 10 p.m.
Peg Volk kicked off the evening and was joined by Mary Dufty for a duet; Van Lewin flew solo this month and played and sang a solid set of good tunes; Ernie Smith waxed wonderfully poetic; Bruce MacNeill, making his debut, played some very cool guitar and sang some old chestnuts that were very well received; Terry Flynn recited his love poem to Jean, who then joined him on stage for some select covers; Sean Mahoney, returning after a time away, played some fine guitar and sang songs that all enjoyed; Kent Reynolds, another debut performance, rocked the room with some wild riffs on his electric guitar; Bob Sellers delivered some fun and typically obscure songs; Lee A. Walker accompanying himself on guitar, sang a good set of songs; Mikey Lee, accompanied by Gretchen Pope & Robert Check, performed admirably singing both covers and originals; Billy Justis & Daisey Crockette returned to the delight of the crowd and sang and played some choice selections; and Jeff Madson ended the evening with his typically terrific covers his way. Another delightful evening of local music and conviviality enjoyed by all!
Please come out and support our local artists and enjoy good music, fine food and great company!
Poets, Performance Artists and Musicians are encouraged to participate and edify the receptive and gracious audience! It is highly recommended you get to the Shack early as it fills up quick!
A very delicious and affordable $10 buffet is offered until 8:00 p.m. and is free to performers.
Peg Volk hosts the evening and, although original works are preferred, “not so original” pieces are also acceptable. Sign-up for performers is first come - first served. Time allotment will be decided by how many performers sign-up. For more information please contact Peg at 331-2769 or pcvolk@verizon.net
